The Be You campaign addresses the issue of gender stereotypes and how they relate to sports. With the purpose of challenging your ideas of sports and how they are gendered. A man who does ballet should never have his sexuality or gender identity questions because he does ballet, nor should a woman who chooses to play football, rugby, or wrestling. Rather, the focus should be on the beauty, challenge, and skill of the sports. These sports were meant to be entertainment for the masses, not a point of scrutiny over personal matters.
"Challenge your notions of the binary gender and gender expression. Male, female, non-binary, or however one chooses to identify has nothing to do with a sport they choose to partake in nor does their sport determine their gender identity or sexuality. Instead, the focus should be on the amazing skill they exude, the hard work they put in day in and day out, and the absolute joy they get and give to those who watch."
